When you arrive at AHATS, you will park in the lot shown in the diagram to the left. Once parked, please move to the check-in table. There will be Cadets directing you to the right place. Check-in will open at 7:00 AM, and the race will start at 9:00 AM.
The uniform that all participants will wear while on the course is as follows:
Military members will wear their service's combat fatigues. Any camouflage pattern is acceptable, and uniforms will all be in accordance with applicable regulations. Civilians may wear any appropriate civilian attire and must also wear boots.
A ruck weighing no less than 11 kilograms or 24.3 pounds. Note that the ruck will be weighed at the finish line, so anything you can consume over the course of the race (water, snacks, etc.) will not count for weight.
A water source. There will be aid stations along the course with water and food, but you must also have at least one quart (one canteen) worth of water at the start of the race. Any type of container is acceptable (canteen, bladder, bottle, etc.).
Any necessary cold or wet weather gear. You may keep this in your ruck during the race, but it will not count for weight and must be taken out when the ruck is weighed at the finish.
*PLEASE NOTE*
While the timeline is likely very accurate, it is subject to change. If this happens, we will email all participants and those on the emailing list.
Please do not check in to Friday night lodging before 5:00 PM, and do not plan to stay past 8:00 AM on Sunday. You can come and go throughout the night; check in and out at our CQ desk.
All participants can store extra gear in the main building during the event, whether staying overnight or not. Gopher Battalion is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
We ask all participants to follow the Norwegian Defense Attache guidelines for participating in the march.
Approved military uniform: field uniform/work uniform and military-grade boots. The uniform must be within regulation during the march. In civilian events and where civilians partake in a military setting, civilian clothing is allowed, i.e., long trousers and boots with a minimum weight of 1.5 kg (3.3 lbs). The rucksack with contents must weigh at least 11 kg/24.3 lbs. at the start and finish line. The rucksack/backpack must be military-grade. Civilian participants can use a civilian version of the rucksack. Weighted Vests are not authorized for this event.
If a civilian does the march in a vest, the civilian won't be awarded a badge or certificate. But they will be able to receive all the other race materials (t-shirts, gift boxes, etc.).
